Binaposter 10.
Gotta play every day.

An invitation to always remember how important it is to keep your spirits up and not to take life too seriously. Given the stress of our daily lives and the amount of negativity in the world, we believe that playing every day – even just a little bit – fosters evolution, discovery, renewal, and balance.

The monopoly of appearances.

Guy Debord published "The Society of the Spectacle" in 1967 where he coined the phrase "the monopoly of appearances": the perfect label for these trying times. And the perfect motto for this flashy merry-go-round of ego-building powered by money and likes.

Binaposter 07.
The intricacies of procrastination.

A study of something that happens at Binalogue whenever we start pitching ideas for a new project. More often than not, we end up with a vast amount of interesting resources – usually fueled by a somewhat "freestyle" creative process but kind of disconnected with the brief and specs of the project – that end up in a drawer. We took all this wonderful randomness out and put it in a better place: a Binaposter.

If you can't hide it, feature it.

This was a tough one. If we didn’t dump 20 versions before cracking this one, we didn’t dump any. Even now, we can’t tell exactly why we did some things the way we did. Nevertheless, we stuck to the motto of this poster and followed it till the end: if you can’t hide it, feature it.

U r light in the dark.

A reflection about how sometimes, when going through difficult times, someone and/or something unexpectedly appears and casts a light on your outlook, making you realize there’s always a reason to stay hopeful and keep on pursuing what you’re after.

Suckers for process.

What started as a motion intro for a reel - which in itself started out as one rotating cube - turned into an army of cubes that eventually stormed this Binaposter. Once we saw where we were heading with this, assuming our condition as addicts of the creative process and setting it in stone (or, well, on a poster) was the easiest part of all.

Hesitation is the mother of all fuck ups.

Our thoughts on how hesitation might lead to creative 'suicide.' Right smack in-your-face, this Binaposter highlights the insecurities that any artist feels while exposing their own thoughts and creations. The silver lining behind it is that making mistakes is not equal to failure; rather, it is to progress.

When in doubt, leave it out.

When we were beginner students at Sidney's School of Visual Arts, a photography teacher gave us this bit of advice while we were selecting photos. It has frequently appeared as a rule of thumb in our daily work at Binalogue and on other fronts since then. Also, the fact that it rhymes nicely gives it a lovely flow.

Just because you could, doesn't mean you should.

To make a point, sometimes you need a dog, a lion, and some primal instincts. The most striking aspect of this original is that both the technique and the result are paradoxical. That’s why we added a footnote to explain it.
